mama Afrika Festival is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit event that celebrates African culture, bridges communities, and educates the public about the contributions of the African diaspora. This year, aligning the 14th annual festival with African Diaspora Heritage Month, we aim to highlight North Carolina’s diversity and commitment to cultural inclusion.
Raleigh is home to a growing African population, with nearly 128,000 African residents in the city and over 200,000 statewide. Recognizing the contributions of these communities is vital to fostering unity, cultural exchange, and economic development.
